Oludeniz
The only locals you are likely to encounter on holiday in Oludeniz, Turkey’s popular Mediterranean resort, are those catering for the hordes of tourists that congregate in this scenic spot every season. The magnificent lagoon and long beach serve not only Oludeniz itself, but also visitors staying at Hisaronu on the cliffs above; many ofmore

I love Oludeniz - Wendy and Michelle. Date of travel: Jul 2008
I love Oludeniz
There is paragliding in oludeniz if you are daring enough to do it the shopping centre is good you can get a bus to Hisaronu and Fethiye which run every few minutes so if you want to adventure to the markets which you must go for the experience of the haddling of the bargains handbags leatherware gold and everything you can think of. I can't write anything bad about Oludeniz because I haven't experienced anything yet and this is my 4th year now.
Oludeniz is a busy a nice and beautiful place - Mark. Date of travel: Jun 2008
Oludeniz is a busy a nice and beautiful place
Oludeniz has all you need it has a nightlife (just not too much) it has shops and really good restaurants (Help beach Lounge). The only down side I can think of is the Turkish culture missing from Oludeniz.
Where to eat - D, J, J, J, B. Date of travel: Oct 2007
Best place to eat in Oludeniz was Captain Hook fantastic and a meal for everyone only problem was being pested by the Turks asking you to eat in their restaurant. A firm no thank you worked. The gents in our party went paragliding. Go with Focus, they don't rip you off and have great pilots.
Olu Deniz - Debbie and Ian. Date of travel: Oct 2007
A must in Oludeniz is the bar at Asena Beach and the best restaurant is Captain Hook.

We loved Oludeniz! - Bianca. Date of travel: Aug 2007
Oludeniz is the best part of Turkey for the nightlife and the best restaurants to eat at, and if you want any gifts they are the best too!! Also lovely views of the mountains make your walk to the town even better!!!!
Best place ever! - Terry, Carole, Vicky and April. Date of travel: Jul 2007
We were apprehensive about going to Turkey, but we can honestly say it was the best place we have ever been. We could not find a fault anywhere. The Hotel Karbul Sun - very clean, excellent staff, superb food.
Best holiday in years - Dave. Date of travel: Jul 2007
Oludeniz is full of friendly people and not at all pushy, best food and service was definitely provided at Cloud 9, right on the front, good menu and will also cook anything you can describe as long as they can get the ingredients. Have a pizza, they are superb and if you are hungry you won't be disappointed with the size. The wraps were also great value or for a snack option try their omelettes. If really hungry the T-bone is the crowning glory but ask for it to be finished with garlic butter (it is the best I have tasted).
Great place to stay - Dawn Harris. Date of travel: Jul 2007
Oludeniz was a great place to stay with the blue lagoon beach in walking distance. With beautiful markets and restaurants so near. If you wanted a bit of night life it was a five minute bus journey away. with clubs going until 6 in them morning. Although on Oludeniz beach there are bean bags, where you can chill out and relax through into the evening great memory. I suggest you go on the jeep safari a whole day of fun seeing turkey and doing a lot along the way. Going to a natural mud bath was amazing. Considering we had a meal and was out from 8 until 7 its was great value.
Oludeniz is paradise - Diane, Jess. Date of travel: May 2007
Oludeniz is a lovely beach, friendly people, blue lagoon is paradise.
Quiet and Relaxation - P & G Hurley. Date of travel: Oct 2006
Oludeniz is a wonderful scenic resort, ideal for unwinding and relaxing. Don't expect the high life, but a good assortment of bars and restaurants. All very accommodating, and something to suit everyone.
we loved the montebello - Jacquie and claire. Date of travel: Aug 2006
You have a choice of all the food you can imagine in Oludeniz, even a Sunday Roast! You also have a wonderful selection of shops and bars which kept us entertained all week; you can shop at the local Tuesday market, it's huge where you will get everything much cheaper and see a little culture at the same time (the Sunday market is very small and not as good). Mosquitos are a big problem in the area so make sure you are well protected. My holiday to Oludeniz was the best holiday I have ever had, the people are friendly and its so safe there. They adore children and they will make sure they stay safe. Turkey has the most breath taking scenery, just choose your accommodation wisely as you could be located miles from anywere in the most barren of areas. Tour Operator: my travel
I loved Oludeniz - Dan Evans. Date of travel: Aug 2006
It was your typical holiday in Turkey with people trying to grab you into restaurants. I always went to the hippyshake bar. Cas was the main dude there, had a rite good laugh with him every day. I went with my girlfriend and a couple of nights i took her to the a'la carte restaurant were we enjoyed a 5* meal. We went on a boat trip, it was really beautiful. We really enjoyed everything about it - the people and the resort, going back next year and cant wait.

Mint! Again, really friendly staff and good clubs, shops, and restaurants, absolutely buzzing.
Beautiful Oludeniz - Lee Andrew. Date of travel: Jul 2006
Oludeniz is just the most wonderful and relaxed place. The beach is shingle and pebbles but that can be a good thing as you dont get sand everywhere. At the far end of the beach is the lagoon which is more of a sand and fine shingle mix. Perfect for swimming. Because Oludeniz is set in a national park, the hotels are only allowed to build so high, so there are no skyscapers etc. The restaurants along the prom are excellent, especially the Buzz Bar & Restaurant (Turkish/international) and Bella Gustos (Italian). Also the secret garden has fab Turkish food. There is also the usual stuff like Sunday roasts but who on earth wants to eat British food in Turkey. Try a Turkish kebab from one of the stalls along the front. The cost of food and drink has gone up over the last few years, but it is still a lot cheaper than the rest of Europe (even though this is Asia). The bars in Oludeniz are quite low key, but if you want rowdy nightlife then catch a dolmus up to Hisaronou which is only a few minutes away. I have been going to Oludeniz for the past 13 years and it is still as lovely as when I first visited. Try it and see.

It was the second time we had been to Turkey, and loved it, especially the night life. We went back to exactly the same hotel, as we really loved it last year. The 12 island boat trip was fantastic! There are some really nice restaraunts in Hisaronu town: the best in our opinion was 'Bella Pizza'. Their food ranged from pizza to sea bass, catering for everyone's taste. It's a beautiful restaurant and the staff are so nice!
First visit - Louise Baker. Date of travel: Jul 2005
This was my first visit to Turkey and it was disappointing. Olu Deniz was full of English tourists who seem delighted to be served a full English breakfast. Not my cup of tea: when I travel I prefer to experience the country I'm visiting, not to pretend I'm still in London, but with better weather and a beach! My partner, who'd visited the resort three years ago was shocked at how much more expensive everything had become - it's certainly not a cheap holiday any more. And, apart from the excellent food in our hotel, it was hard to find a Turkish meal being served. We did visit the Haman on the first evening and we had a good scrub and massage there, but the Haman is within the grounds of one of the two giant all-inclusive hotels that dominate the seafront. And it's these two hotels that are killing off the whole resort. While tourists can get all they want within their own gated and guarded environments, they will not venture out to try what the locals may have to offer. And finally, a word of warning, there's a karaoke bar called Dream at the far end of the beach, beyond the bowling alley and between the two all-inclusive hotels. The bar is run by a woman from the midlands and her Turkish boyfriend. We visited a few times and even sang once or twice. But one night we tried the local Raki, instead of sticking to our usual beers, and were charged three times over the odds. We didn't go back! Tour Operator: Anatolian Sky
Really love Ovacik - Jacqueline Aspden. Date of travel: Jul 2005
Really love Ovacik, its much quieter than Olu Deniz and Hisaronu and a little higher up from sea level benefitting from cooler breezes in the heat of the summer. Only a few minutes walk from the bustling town of Hisaronu and its huge selection of great restaurants and bars. Found Olu Deniz to be too commercialized and Blackpooly, so stayed away. Ovacik is lovely, there are a few restaurants and bars and the nicer hotels seem to be dotted around this area. Tour Operator: Thomas Cook

What can I say, it is lovely. I recomend it to anyone who is looking for a great holiday. The people are friendly, I mean I've been going there to the same hotel for nine years and my cousin ended up marrying a man from the hotel and she now has three kids.. Turkey is just that good. I am going to live there in a few years time. Everyone we have ever introduced it to has never complained lol. Big up to every one at hotel Yasaroglu you are all great and do a great job, well we are practically family love you all to bits xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Tour Operator: first choice
Disappointed - Jason and Lisa. Date of travel: Jun 2005
Overall we were disappointed in Oludeniz. It has become too big and brash and has lost its identity. It has changed beyond all recognition since we were here 6 years ago. Prices are not cheap any more but the food in the restaurant is still excellent. The shopkeepers are very persistant and won't leave you alone, keep saying we do you a very good price. We found this aspect a real pain the backside and in the end stopped us looking around the the shops. The surrounding scenery is beautiful. Tour Operator: Thomas Cook

We went to Olu Deniz for 2 weeks and we have to say we were disappointed. We expected a tranquil and picturesque resort and found a noisy, commercialised, built up area that had been totally spoilt. The beach was a mixture of large pebbles and shingle which shelves very steeply into the sea. You could not walk round the shops without being constantly bothered everytime you looked at something. We expected it to be cheap but apparantly prices have risen 40% in the past year. Spirits and wine are especially expensive. There were some excellent restaurants here with the Secret Garden, Captain Hooks and Josephs being the best. Overall we would NOT return. Tour Operator: Cosmos

Have visited Olu Deniz for the past 3 years and I wouldn't recommend going anywhere else. The people are lovely, the place is clean and the sun is HOT!!! If you get the chance to paraglide off Babadag please do it - I'm proud to say that I have and it was out of this world. If you suffer from mozzy bites please take care - take vitamin B1 for about 2 weeks prior to going - it worked for me. Going back again this June and can't wait. Tour Operator: Thomson
Fabulous - Alan and Becky Cook. Date of travel: Sep 2004
We had a lovely holiday in Oludeniz. It was our first time in Turkey and the only point that we did not like was the constant hassling to get us into the restaurant. It did not seem if you were allowed to browse. Otherwise fabulous. Tour Operator: Archers Direct

We stayed at the Leda Hotel in Ovacik and it was superb. It's a great hotel with a large clean pool, the rooms are cleaned daily and the restaurant and staff are excellent. It is situated at the far end of Ovacik so it's quieter and away from the bustle. The dolmus bus stops at the end of the road about every five to ten minutes and it's only about 50p to travel down to Olu Deniz and about the same to Fethiye in the opposite direction. Highlight of the holiday for me was paragliding off the Babadog mountain and landing twenty-five minutes later on the beach - an awesome experience. The boat trips were all good value and the clear waters are brilliant for swimming and snorkelling in. The locals were very friendly and obliging and you will have a great time offering superb value for money. I shopped around for price and found that www.kandsholidays.com were cheaper than everyone else and their price incuded meals on the plane and transfers. Don't hesitate to book anywhere in this area and we can highly recommend both the Leda Hotel and KandS Holidays. Tour Operator: KandS Holidays

We stayed in near Oludeniz /Hisaronu towards the end of September and it was dead - many shops were closed and the restaurants were empty. Great place but go in peak season if you're after some nightlife. Tour Operator: Thompson

Although were were staying in Marmaris we went to Oludeniz quite a bit. Marmaris was nice but very busy with a lively nightlife, but Oludeniz was a welcome escape from the madness!! The restaurants were good in both resorts but much cheaper in Marmaris. Don't stick to the main drag for restaurants in Oludeniz there are some exellent restaurants in the back streets, and a great Indian - Sultan pepper - on the main street. Tour Operator: Thomas Cook
