Icmeler
Neat and clean, the lovely scenic setting and lush gardens of the purpose-built holiday resort of Icmeler on Turkey’s south-east coast alleviates the harshness of its dozens of hotels and apartment blocks. Icmeler is surrounded by pine forests and is fronted by a lively promenade along its beautiful beach front. Attractions include great restaurants, amore

Wonderful - Cathy. Date of travel: Aug 2008
Icmeler was clean and tidy, bustling with people but not crowded and no hassles from people working there apart from asking you to go into their restuarants. Especially kid friendly.
Love it - Sandra. Date of travel: Jun 2008
Fantastic place. In June 2008 I was there again. Shops are good people are nice not so much hassle just say friendly no. Eastenders is horrible but Pleasure is so good. If you want a bigger thing Like clubs or shops just go with the dolmus to Marmaris and you can take a taxi back. Wonderboys is the best bar good shows and nice boys. Also the Stella show at the Harmony bar is so fun and the boys make a good show to. In September I go back again. I really love ICMELER!!!
I did love Icmeler - Joan. Date of travel: Nov 2007
I did love Icmeler
Icmeler was fantastic, it was one of the best places I have had a holiday, I normally holiday alone and was always wary of going to Turkey alone, but after being in Icmeler I would definitely go there alone. It is perfect for a lovely relaxing holiday, although in Oct (15Th) when I was there, a lot of places were closing down, but there was still plenty to choose from. It was great.
Icmeler - Ronnie Kennedy and 2 children. Date of travel: Oct 2007
Icmeler has good food and nice people but beware of the market traders.
Icmeler is a very pro British resort - Mike & Julie. Date of travel: Oct 2007
Icmeler is a very pro British resort
The good points are just about everything! Many activities like para gliding and jeep safaris for the active to boat trips and diving etc. Contrary to Tour Guide's reports you can organise your own itinerary from outlets in town at more favourable rates. The Dolmus (Bus) runs through the resort on a regular basis and fares are 1 Turkish Lira in town and 1.75 TL if going on to Marmaris. They run up to midnight. Taxi fares vary according to time of day. The highest I paid was 6 TL. Our first but definitely not our last visit.
Great holiday - Lynne Humphreys. Date of travel: Oct 2007
All in all a great holiday in Icmeler, weather was very wet most of the week and there is little to do when it pours. The floors are very slippy so beware. Very cheap to eat and drink out, I would not go all inclusive again as drinks and food basic in hotel. The Irish Bar with it's staff of Kurds were excellent and entertained us most nights. Beware of all inclusive boat trip, we paid £5 on top of price for drinks on the boat, the trip was cancelled due to weather and the £5 was not refunded, this was booked with rep so don't pay it. It takes a while to become used to the " touchy, feely" attitude of the Turkish men, Ladies watch out! A firm NO usually works. But i dont think they mean to offend. We will be back next year.
Icmeler is great - Amanda and Laura. Date of travel: Oct 2007
Icmeler is great
Best bars to go 2 are Friends, Three Bells, and Prince. Best nightclubs: Eastenders and Pleasure. Best hairdressers: l'Etoile. Little Venice Market is best for shopping. Anywhere in Icmeler is great.
Happy days at Wonderboys - Gordon & Jean Horsfall. Date of travel: Sep 2007
Very nice holiday resort, everyone friendly, beach nice, entertaining nights. All in all a good place to go for a holiday.
Wonderful resort - Nikki & Rich. Date of travel: Sep 2007
Icmeler is the nicest resort I have stayed in in Tukey. All of the locals are extremley friendly and I highly recommend this resort. Food is of a very high quality and food and drink is inexpensive. The Waterfall restaurant was our personal favourite.
Back again & good as ever - Mike & Marlene Gregory. Date of travel: Sep 2007
Not much changes, same staff, different bars but overall a little quieter than expected and police action on hassling seems to be having desired effect. (Two bars shut down for two days whilst we were there). Incidentally the best way to beat hastling is to smile sweetly, say no and just keep walking. So not stop. (It's really not that bad!) A good family resort, recommended bars, Florida (Hi Turan & Apo), Moonlight (Hi Jimmy & Co) and Majestic (one of the best sizzling beef dishes I have ever had).
Loved Icemler will be back... - Patricia Cannon. Date of travel: Sep 2007
Just back from a week in Icmeler with three friends, Sue, Loz and Rob, they helped to make the holiday, had such a laugh. Venice bar and restaurant absolutely fabulous, can those waiters dance, they are spellbinding. Lazy day boat trips so wonderful we went the next day, wish we had known and would have booked for most days of our holiday, it is great way to get tan with out overheating, cool breeze when the boat moving and then it stops in 5 difference coves and we can swim from boat, wonderful. Definitely will visit again.
Fun pub - Ray. Date of travel: Sep 2007
If you want good night out in Icmeler try Deja Vue in the old town. Brilliant sevice could not do enough for you, it was my girlfriend's birthday. They got her a cake, then they made a big fuss with sparklers and fireworks. To Byro, Gogo, Jagur, Ikam, thanks for making our holiday. Recommend this fun pub to all.
Not tourist friendly - Mark P. Date of travel: Sep 2007
Icmeler in Turkey is a pretty place, but tourists should be prepared for constant harrassment to spend money and aggressive behaviour if you don't.
Icmeler is the best - Corey. Date of travel: Aug 2007
I would recommend the jeep safari. It was great fun and enjoyable for all ages - take your own water pistols!
Just a trip I would only do once! - Leanne & Emma. Date of travel: Aug 2007
Icmeler would be a nice place if it was more English run, so they would stop pestering people, that's just what put me off Turkey! There are only two main dance clubs (well from what I got told, if there are any more...) Eastenders and Pleasure both within walkin distance of each other... Eastenders was more of a English place although Turkish staff (also never had a clue what Eastenders is?) Pleasure is more of a bigger club and has many Turkish lads in there gorping at the girls which isn't nice when you know what they're only after. When they know they're not going to get it!
Ok hotel - Elaine and Christine, daughters and gran.. Date of travel: Aug 2007
Any bar provides entertainment, try a fish bowl, and see what happens!!
Icmeler, Clean, Beautiful and Friendly - Bobby, Susan & Jenna. Date of travel: Jul 2007
Icmeler is a great place to spend a holiday, the only minus point may be the coach journey from Dalaman Airport which is 2 hours due to an unnecessary stop for refreshments. It is a little dearer for a taxi which takes approx. 1hr 15 mins and well worth the extra. Food in restaurants is excellent and there are bargains galore in the many shops.
Icmeler - Peter and Judy. Date of travel: Jul 2007
This was our second hoilday in Icmeler. What we fount this year is that a meal cost little more and the portions were smaller. Give it another few yeara and it will be the same as Marmaris.
Loved it here - Harriet. Date of travel: Jul 2007
Icmeler has so many friendly people, cheap and cheerful, lovely beach, plenty of boat trips and jeep safaris.
Icmeler! - Louise and family. Date of travel: Jul 2007
Icmeler is the quiter resort of the busy town of Marmaris !! There is plenty of good shops and a lovely beach ! There is many restuarants and bars along the beach and main part of Icmeler ! I would strongly recommend that you go 2 Tommy's restuarant which is just up the road from the Adler apartments !! The food was the best food I have tasted in Turkey so far !! There is a big market on every wednesday in Icmeler which is idel for cheap designer clothes !! It is really warm if you go through the day but its open til 8 o clock at night anyway !! Icmeler is about 20 minutes from Marmaris on the bus which is really cheap! I def prefer Icmeler to Marmaris because Marmaris is too busy and more modern than most of the holiday resorts in Turkey!! I really loved Icmeler and miss it already even though I was there just last night!! Icmeler is a great place that everyone must visit at least once in their lifetime!!! xx
I loved Icmeler - Jeanette Goodman. Date of travel: Jul 2007
Just back last week from my 6th visit to Turkey. Last year we stayed in Marmaris and felt it would be nice to visit the much quieter resort of Icmeler as we enjoyed spending our days on the beach last year. Indeed the beach is lovely apart from the persistance of the beach guys hassling to use their part of the beach. It was extrememely hot (50 degrees). Turkey has so far not had a good year with tourism, which probably accounted for their persistance in harassment to use their beach or their bars/restaurants, even felt like they would take your last penny moments before leaving for home. The evenings were very noisy although most nights it did quieten down by midnight and only on a couple of occasions did the music stay booming until 3am and then lucky us the mosquito truck came around about 4.30am, but we did eventually manage to move rooms to a slightly quiter position at the back of the hotel and hence we had to put up with the awful view as detailed above. After 2 nights of no sleep, I can say that all in all it was a good break but I don't think I would come back to Icmelar or Marmaris. I have been to nicer areas and I will definitely be returning to Turkey again.
Vendors are pests - John Morgan. Date of travel: Jul 2007
The resort itself looks beautiful but the local restauranteurs are a pest. Apparantly there was a crackdown on street vendors and restaurant owners hassling people on the street. This lasted a couple of months and from what we can gather from other visitors to the area it is now as bad as before. The beaches are awash with people hassling you to buy everything from water, beer, fruit, ice cream and even fake sportswear! Sometimes the pitching for business actually gets a bit intimidating with folks grabbing you and ushering you into their shop/stall/bar. It's a shame as it is a visually very stunning setting that a lot could be made of it. The boat trips and excursions are very good but once again the vendors are an absolute nuisance. You cannot go for a quiet evening stroll without someone loudly trying to make you buy something.
Icmeler, family friendly and fun - Tracy. Date of travel: Jul 2007
Icmeler, family friendly and fun
I visit Icmeler regularly and enjoy its lively atmosphere that is relaxing and welcoming. The beach is the best in the area and there are just too many good restaurants to mention. My favourite for good food and entertainment is the Champagne Bar Restaurant (champagnebaricmeler.com). The resort is only a beautiful water taxi or short dolmush ride away from Marmaris with all its loud night life and plentiful shopping. An equally short trip the other way is the quaint and even quieter resort of Turunc. I really can't recommend anywhere better on this coastline.
I hated the Newport Apartments - Mrs Orourke. Date of travel: Jul 2007
Icmeler is a fantastic location for any kind of holiday as long as you are not staying at the Newport Apartments. We arrived on 27 July '07 at the apartments which were advertised as a 3+. Myself and the holiday rep agreed it was prob a 0+. After checking in only to discover the s/c equipment was filthy and not adequate, the shower facility was a hose coming out of the wall where the shower head should have been. The taps on the sink were not fixed and did not turn off, the light fittings were loose and had no bulbs (not that I would have used them in fear of electrocuting myself or my 2 children). The smoke alarm beeped constantly and was told by the hotel representitive we would have to wait for the battery replacement until it was more convenient for them, the swimming pool was shaded for most of the day, ie no sun and didn't cater for the size of the apartments. The walls in the rooms were black with dirt and the interiors were in much need of a good clean. There were 4 of us and we paid £1700 for 2 weeks. On top of that we paid £350 more to move to other apartments which we are in the process of claiming back. The staff in the apartments were rude but thanks to Jane, our rep, who whole-heartedly agreed with us. We managed after moving apartments to have a fantastic holiday.
Not too busy but entertaining at night - Maggie Brown. Date of travel: Jul 2007
Not overly busy like Marmaris. Good entertainment at night but stops at 12. Go to bars early, can drink till 2am. Trips to armaris on water taxi great fun. I would also recommend the 'Diana' boat trip and say hello to captain from Maggi & Elaine. The Turks have a great sense of humour and they're willing to do whatever they can to make your holiday enjoyable. This is something the Turks haven't lost yet, unlike other holiday resorts like the Greeks who just want to take your money and really don't care who you are or whether you'll ever come back!!
Icemeler is the best - Jayne & Kenneth. Date of travel: Jul 2007
We love Icmeler, the beautiful surrounding not to noisy, no hustle and bustle like the next resort up called Mamaris. A little more up market. The people are very friendly with lots of lovely retaurants, never had a bad meal there. There's plenty of shops and a great market. It's a must to go on a boat trip.
I love the Geordie bar in Icmeler!!! - Laura (loves serdal). Date of travel: Jul 2007
Was my first time in Turkey, we went to the resort Icmeler in July/August 2007. I went with my mum, her boyfriend and his son. I've been so many places over the 16 years I've been alive, but I've gotta say Icmeler was the best holiday ever!!! We went to the Geordie bar every night. Was really good chat, had karaoke on every night from 9-12, also do great food! All the staff are bloody amazing!!! Love them all millions especially Serdal!!! I'm vey upset though. 'Cos my mum likes change we don't offten go to the same resort more than once :( so this year we going to Hisaronu :( I'm well gutted 'cos wanted to go back to Icmeler but next year I'll be 18 at last, thank God haha! So I'm deffo going to Icmeler in 2009!!!
Icmeler: A place to go - Hayley family & friends. Date of travel: Jul 2007
It's my 3rd time to Icmeler now and won't be the last, it's great for young and families all ages. They have something for everyone, food's nice. The Turkish are so friendly they can't do enough for you, chap and cheerful, good nightlife if you want more clubs, Marmaris is the just a bus ride away. Nice local larger EFES mmm, so go try Icmeler - it's brill!!
Icmeler is Fantastic - Anonymous. Date of travel: Jun 2007
Wow, what a great place, we have just returned from a week at the Mandalin Hotel, Icmeler, and already booked to go back. The place is so friendly, great beach, bars, restaurants, and the scenery is definitely a photo opportunity, the backdrop of the mountains is outstanding. My favourite restaurant is the Venice, can those waiters dance!!!! My favourite waiter there is Apo, nothing is too much trouble for him, and he will sit and talk to you in quieter moments. We will have to try the Dreamboys, and Chef, and Lighthouse next time we go. To sum up go to Icmeler, you will not be dissapointed, take my word for it.
Icmeler puts a spell on you... - Elaine, Lin and Phil. Date of travel: Jun 2007
Vanice restaurant by canal best food, but lots of good places old village way. Beach area good and all the people very friendly. Market is great too in Icmeler.
Icemeler is a great place - Tatiana. Date of travel: May 2007
Icemeler is a great place if you want to relax and have a bit of entertainment in the evenings. The music is live at 10pm and finishes at 12am every night. They are great entertainers and very friendly. My fiancé and I went to the Chef restaurant and the people there are absolutely amazing and so is the food. They always make sure your food is well cooked, ask if there is anything wrong or anything you need. They are very polite, friendly and funny. They always make sure the place is clean and tidy. One of the waitress will stand at the door greeting every customer. DreamBoys bar is a great place to go for entertainment, they are also very polite and funny. They dance at the bar, they do Turkish dance, 'full monty' which is where two men will stand on the bar and strip until they onle have their boxers on, it's great fun, there is a waiter who dances with cocktails on his head and jumps from table to table without dropping anything on the floor. I would highly recommend people to go to Icemeler and go to the Chef restaurant for great food and the DreamBoys for entertainment.
Icmeler is wonderful! - Miss Nicola Colley. Date of travel: May 2007

Holiday to remember - Hayley. Date of travel: Sep 2006
Holiday to remember
It was my first time in Icmeler and I will definately be going back, the resort is in a beautiful bay surrounded by mountains, the weather was gorgeous every day and the Turkish people are so nice, they just can't do enough for you. Made some great friends at the Lion restaurant and Fun Pub (facing the dream three bells). My holiday in Icmeler really was one to remember.
Icmeler is fantastic - Gary, Diane and Emma Scott. Date of travel: Sep 2006
Icmeler is an amazing place everything you need is there. The beaches are lovely! We spent most nights and sometimes days in Majestic Boys. It is a fantastic place with friendly staff who are not pushy and treat you like royalty ! The food is brilliant, cocktails were buy 1 get 1 free (full size too). The entertainment is brilliant especially the breakdancers. The staff Bakir, Mario, Erkan, Antonio and Haggi and the big boss were brilliant and it was sad to leave. Definitely going back in the summer. Fantastic holiday !
Nice place to have a holiday - Gary & Dawne. Date of travel: Sep 2006
Icmeler is a nice place. Not too noisy, very nice places to eat, plenty of choice in bars & restaurants. Best one we found was the Malissa. Great staff and the owners Donna & Mick are from Sheffield. Will go back again.

TURKEY - Jeff Melbourne. Date of travel: Aug 2006
TURKEY
Great place, great people. Try and visit the Stonehouse Restaurant and Cafe Bar just outside Icmeler. The owner Ahmet Esmet and his staff and very funny and happy people who go out of their way to be helpful. They arranged trips cheaper than tour reps and exchanged money at better rate than the banks. Hoping to go back next year and if we do I will certainly be spending more time at the Stonehouse. Tour Operator: Air Tours
Icmeler great, avoid Idas/Metropol hotels - Diane, Geoff, Adam Gray, Max Slaughter. Date of travel: Aug 2006
We loved the resort and the people in the bar and restaurants. We really enjoyed Friends steak house, the atmosphere was great and the staff could not get any better. The entertainment was great, we were even given sparklers - a great night out. Haggle for everything.....we even haggled for 17 kebabs saving 2 lira on each. There is a beach club just past Marmaris that is used for Turkish nights, so it is deserted during the day, with golden sandy beach. Tour Operator: Goldtrail
Majestic Boys, Icmeler - Zara & Bianca. Date of travel: Aug 2006
I went to Icmeler in August 2006 and had a fab holiday, the region is beautiful, surrounded by mountains with a lovely beach and weather to die for. I spent most of my days soaking up the sun, going on boat trips (I'd reccomend the Eren Boat for an absolute bargain and fun, friendly day out!!!) and sitting on the beach, it was fabulous. Most of our evenings we spent at the Majestic Boys located opposite Harrys Steak House. We had a brill time here, the staff were friendly, the atmosphere electric, it was fabulous. We went to this bar every night as we found it to be one of the only bars where the staff didnt hassle you and as two girls on holiday that was important. We loved the food, the cocktails being buy one get one free was also a great incentive to keep going back. AND the fact that even though the cocktails were buy one get one free they were served in proper sized glasses not mini ones (a trick that alot of the places offering the same deal do)!!!!!!! We cant emphasise enough how much we enjoyed the Majestic Boys, its our sixth year to Icmeler and our second where we've spent most nites in Majestic Boys, yes the staff have changed from last year due to the fact a couple have gone in the army and a couple are working in Marmaris, but the staff this year are equally as friendly, the food is the same if not better and the entertainment brill. A BIG thank you to Mesut, Bekir, Kadir, Tahir, Aydin, Hakan, Big Ahmet, Lil Ahmet (Mario), Erkan, Barman (u make the best cocktails), Doctor Barman, Bar-boy and all the kitchen staff!!!! UR ALL FABULOUS!!!!!!! See ya next year guys!!!!
Beautiful Icmeler !!!!!!!!! - Rachel. Date of travel: Aug 2006
Such a lovely place - everyones so friendly - lots of cheap really good restaurants (3 course meal for around 7 quid, breakfast a quid!!!) fantastic scenery, mountains, seaview coastline, and bargain price day trips. We did Dalyan river, mud baths and turtle island all day boat trip includes hotel pick up, transfers & lunch on board for 10 quid each booked in resort. Husband did scuba dive 3 dives hotel pick up, lunch & all equipment 12 quid - book locally in resort!!! I went to the market that day - watch for tobacco touts - its fake - also walk round all the stalls before you buy anything to suss out the prices! Going on Turkish night next time, husband doing PADI course.
Lots to do!! - Recent Guest. Date of travel: Aug 2006
In Icmeler there is plenty to do, shopping, clubs, top food restaurants, boat trips to nearby islands, jeep safari, amazing water parks and plenty more. Being in Icmeler you will never be faced with boredom.
We had a fab holiday - Kare Lambert. Date of travel: Aug 2006
We've been going to Turkey for 10 years and Icmeler was one of best resorts. We've booked again for this year and will do the same next year!
Sweet Brothers - Jennifer Thorpe. Date of travel: Aug 2006
Yes I agree with Chris that the food is good but I saw a woman being attacked when walking past by one of the brothers when she was walking past this restaurant. One of the staff pulled her hair threw her to the ground and then he kicked her when she was on the ground. He continued to work there and I saw that he was still working there last year. This happened when I was on holiday there two years ago and I feel ashamed that I did not stop to help but felt afraid for myself. If that person is reading this I am sorry I did not stop to help but did not know what to do. I would still recommend Icmeler to anyone as this is the first time I have ever seen anything like this terrible attack. I would always recommend Icmeler to anyone as the people are generally friendly helpful and will do anything to make your holiday memorable. This incident although upsetting has not put me off Icmeler only Sweet Brothers restaurant.
Robin Blue Fish Safari - Donna and Paula. Date of travel: Jul 2006
There are many day trips to keep the children busy and all are reasonable prices. We took the jeep safari with Robin Blue Fish and would highly recommend it to all. The drivers were safe, extremely friendly and would go to any lengths to ensure an enjoyable day. Be prepared to get wet as there are surprises in store!! Watch out for Mr. Jiggy Jiggy and Viagra Man. A fantastic day out , so good once was not enough and we took the trip twice in one week. The professionalism and good humour of the tour guide and drivers guarantee a fun filled day for all. The guide filmed the day and the dvd was well worth the £8 we paid. Tour Operator: Goldtrail
Dream Boys Fun Pub - Steph Hodges. Date of travel: Jul 2006
This bar is the best place to be if you want great food, great drink and off the wall entertainment. The staff are brilliant. They work in two's so one will take your order while the other ones prepares it. They never forget you, will always check if you want a top up on your drink, but only when you've finished the first one, so not to interrupt. They clear your table quickly and efficiently and have the BEST chicken sizzling chinese dish I have ever tasted! They serve a variety of food from Turkish kebabs to spagetti bolognaise to Chinese. From 10 til midnight every night, they have they're entertainment. They'll do a little dance and rotate during the week with Break dancers, a Michael Jackson impersonator, a Tina Turner impersonator and Turkish dancers. They're ever so popular waiter Yahya will dance your cocktail to you. Yep, he'll prop it on his head and dance around to you. If he doesn't do that then he'll hold it on one palm and swing in the trees for a bit. Sounds funny but is VERY entertaining. If anyone has any doubts on this bar, just visit www.spaces.msn.com/honumber1 or email pretty_daisy@hotmail.co.uk Tour Operator: Thomson
Icmeler is great! - Heather Hart. Date of travel: Jul 2006
We loved Icmeler, it had everything we could have wanted for a holiday. Shopping is fantastic, the beach is beautiful, the food in the restaurants is good and excellent value and the people were lovely. I went on my own with my fifteen year old daughter having been warned about the hassel two blond females were likely to receive. We were actually looked after extremely well and met some really wonderful people and the hassel was minimal, nothing we couldn't cope with. Take the time to talk to the locals and they with very quickly welcome you into their families and look after you accordingly. Tour Operator: Goldtrail
Venice restaurant cant beat it. - Lynne, Chris, Yvonne and Adrian. Date of travel: Jul 2006
Been to Icmeler twice this year and am going back again in eight weeks time. First time back in June had such a fantastic holiday I cried when I had to leave so there was nothing else to do but book up again as soon as I returned. Dont think this would of happened if I had'nt had met such wonderful people in the Venice bar (on the canal) who made you feel so welcome. Dont get me wrong visited several other bars which were also fantastic but we found the Venice bar best for food and entertainment. Counting down the days to go again fantastic staff included Mehmet, Hamish, Samir, Zaffa, Apo, Ismail, Shyboy, Firat, Iso etc. Tour Operator: Thomson
Love it - Annie & Mark Richards. Date of travel: Jul 2006
We have been coming to Icmeler for about 4 years, the place is good for families and there is nightlife if you wish to do it. There are also many trips to be done with the kids. We took ours on a jeep safari with Reggie - it was a great day for all the family. The drivers entertained the kids no end giving them a fun filled (wet) day. One of the places we stopped at was a waterfall in a small village just outside of Marmaris, beautiful scenery but very cold to swim. Then we stopped for lunch at Blue Fish Bay which is set on the beach in Orhaniye. The food was great and the place has fantastic views. We arranged with the family who are English to spend the whole day over there, they picked us up from our hotel in the morning we spent all morning lazing on the beach then just walked up to the restaurant for lunch but they have a wider variety of meals for private customers (food excellent). Money well spent!!!
My second home is Icmeler - Karsten Jensen. Date of travel: Jun 2006
Since 1997 I go to Marmaris/Icmeler 2 times every year. I keep coming back to my second home. I do have very good and very close friends in Icmeler. Will recomend the Red Lion King Bar and Restaurant located on the main road in Icmeler. Across the Tansas supermarket. Ahmets Team is during a very good job so you can feel fine in his place. They make very good Turkish nights with very good shows. The bartender make fantastic bottle show. As well they make very good coctails drinks. The food is very good as well. Come and join and you will come back for sure. Tour Operator: Medhotels
Majestic Boys - Bethany & Dave. Date of travel: Jun 2006
I have just returned from a holiday in Icmeler (June 2006) and my favorite bar from last year, The Majestic Boys has all changed. The entertainment is absolutely terrible, the food is inedible, the staff are pushy- one in particular tried to make us order really expensive wine with our meal and wouldn't take no for an answer. Its such a shame because Mesut and Bekir are great but what has happened? We went twice to make sure and was disappointed both times. Tour Operator: Thomas Cook
Lovely beach - Beth. Date of travel: Mar 2006
Icmeler is a great place for families and has a lovely beach which has a nice breeze which is needed in midday. Icmeler also holds great bars and restaurants. I would definately recommend going to Coco beach, and Mandrin for meals (do great chicken and meat ball dishes) and if you are up for a laugh I would definitely recommend Blondies Bar!!! Its brill for it has night shows (which are really good like breakdancing, bellydancing and tributes to singers) and the bar staff are absolutely great - leave you in stitches and are great at getting the crowd dancing and having a good time. If you like cocktails I would recommend Chill bar (across the road from Harry's Steakhouse)! They do great cocktails at reasonable prices in nice surroundings. The waiters are also very polite and very nice people.Try the Turkish beer (Efes): tastes alot like Stella but is cheaper and better. If you like a bit of an excursion during you holiday, I would HIGHLY recommend the JEEP SAFARI!!! It is great fun and a good day out for you get to go off road and experience the wildlife and culture of Turkey. I would recommend you booking with Caliskanlar travel agency... down on Marmaris beach (5 mile walk along the beach of Icmeler) with Mr No... for then you do not visit the boring, VERY expensive carpet factories and jewellers, and take you round the local villages. This trip costs 12 pounds each which is well worth it for you travel 80 miles (better than hiring a car) and a lovely lunch and visit to the waterfall is included (which would normally cost). I would also recommend the boat trip as well. Tour Operator: Going Places
Zara. Date of travel: Dec 2005
I went to Icmeler for the Summer of 2005 as we have a holiday home there. I had a fantastic time in this Turkish town. It was unique in its versatility as it caters well for English people whilst maintaining its Turkish authenticity. A particular bar that I found to be brilliant was Majestic Boys, located very close to the cash machines. This was a fantastic restaurant with great staff, entertainment and food. The prices were very reasonable, the staff extrememly accomodating and the owners very friendly. It was a very personal environment, waiters had a good rapport with customers young and old without hassling or pestering which was a novelty for a group of girls in Turkey. The staff are genuinely friendly and aim to make your holiday as enjoyable and memorable as possible. Fun to be had at this restaurant/bar by young and old alike, although be warned they do try to make everyone dance and sing to "Alice" which can be highly embarrassing! This is a fun, vibrant restaurant with hassle free staff and good quality food and drink. Definately worth a visit. I will be happy to answer any questions about the exact location, the best way to describe it is very close to Eastenders club or near the Taj Mahal restaurant in Icmeler. Take a visit and I hope your experience was as enjoyable as mine. Well done to Mesut and Bekir (the owners) for making this the place to go!!! Tour Operator: Turkish Airlines

We have had two wonderful holidays in Icmeler and enjoyed every second of our holiday each time. The people are great the place is extreamly clean and well looked after. If you dont like people and being friendly dont bother its not for you, as the people are very friendly and enjoy talking to you. Some people may find they are pushy, we didnt because we like to talk and make friends and thats what we did, not only with other guests in our hotel but with a wonderful couple who own the Seret Hotel, an excellent place for a good cup of tea first thing in the morning. The lads in the bars try to get you to buy your meal there. Its their job to do this and only to be expected. But if you treat them properly you get more than double back in the treatment you will recieve. We are going back this year because we love the place and the people not to mention the food and service, better than anything we have recieved on our other holidays so far. Tour Operator: Holidays4U
I loved Icmeler - Paula. Date of travel: Sep 2005
Food was very good in The Moonlight Restaurant. People very friendly after 6 years coming here it's like home to home. Made great friends especially in Denis Kapisi. I would recommend anyone to come to Icmeler, it's clean, friendly and safe. Had only one bad experience that was in Marti La Perla. The other accommodation has been inJOY Munmar which is first class in all respects.

My family and I have been to Icmeler for the past 4 years. It is such a beautiful place. Mountains everywhere ! We have stayed at the Emirhan hotel and Newport apartments. They were both very basic but there were no complaints at all. Although we were pressurised into going into the bars...we found the people brilliant ! We have made a lot of friends over the 4 years, both Turkish and English, who we meet every year. I agree with Rebecca above...the Fess Bar is the place to go...what great people ! Fess is a quiet bar that has two singers on of an evening from 8.30 till 12.00. They are brilliant and can sing absolutely anything. I would reccommend the Village Tour and going to Ephesus...what incredible days out. I would reccommened Turkey to anyone..whether you want a very relaxing, peaceful holiday....or whether you wanna get up on the tables and strut your stuff !! Tour Operator: Freebird and Pegasus

We have visited Içmeler many times and this year decided to do a run down of most of the places we had meals, snacks and of course drinks at. Here are our views on them. Restaurants: Amigos Paradise– not good Taj Mahal – average Chef 1 – very good meal but slow service Venice – good, chicken wok poor Deniz Kapisi – excellent food, karaoke went on a bit too long but overall excellent night open with music later than most International Dreamboys – food and service extremely good Titanic – good free garlic bread but wouldn’t rush back Moonlight – meal ok but avoid the cheesecake Majestic – excellent meal and entertainment, Chinese set meals great value for money and service great Love boat – Fab! Excellent food all round, probably our best meal Bars: Buffalo – value for money ªen – pass by Majestic Boys – great atmosphere and great chance to dance Our house – Turkish late bar/restaurant, no atmosphere but always open Tin tin – cheap beer, hassle free Sylvias- biggest rip off in Içmeler 3bells (opposite lion bar) – good show Havana – nice and friendly Champagne bar – drinks awful Lion bar – good, nice drinks! Romance – nice bar Random eats: Kebab shop near the school – good Eileens – slow service, hassle free La Grotta – limited menu excellent portions, hassle free Baron – good food, cheap beer, easily forgotten Kebab shop next to police station (does have name but we have forgotten!) – always open! Great chicken kebabs but quite a lot of hassle Travellers Rest – excellent food and brand new accommodation which also looks excellent inside and out with good pool facilities. Typically English. Eastenders – club/karaoke bar – great music and friendly atmosphere open till 4ish foam party every night from about half 3 Marmaris: Anadolu – great view but meal was a rip off and stone cold Uno momento – good quality lunchtime food at a very reasonable price, the evening menu also looked excellent but didn’t have the opportunity to try it out this year Panorama – cosy bar with great view of bays Tour Operator: Self
Icmeler live the holiday here - Jay Irwin. Date of travel: Aug 2005
Icmeler live the holiday here
Icmeler is a great place to be in, happy go lucky people always happy to help. We have had so much fun here, market day is grea , so funny with their remarks as they try to sell you something " lovely jubley" as you pass the traders. If you're going for the first time why not pop into town and have a shave and wax the old ears, we did and every time we go into town it was great, gents try it . Food is stunning ,going out of their way to make you come back again within your weeks away. Turkish baths are another must . 2003 was good, 2005 was better, now we will be here in 2007 lets see what's written then from myself , Jay Irwin and family .

This hotel is simply the best!!!! Eddie, Raso, Sedik and Mhemet are some of the most friendly waiters you will EVER meet!!! ( and they are all rather dishy! lol!) we have been to Effes in 5 times now, and it will be the 6th next year!!!!!! You must try Dreamboys! The entertainment at night is some of the best in town! You get to see waiters prancing around with cocktails on their heads!! (and climbing trees!!!) You also MUST try the Turkish nights at the hotel, (held twice a week) they are always such a laugh!! You must try the Effes you are garanteed to have the best holiday of your life!!!!!!!! Tour Operator: Thomas Cook
Amazing - Angela. Date of travel: Jun 2005
Every year we go to Icmeler. Ever since we started going we haven't been anywere else as it is amazing. The people are so friendly and will do anything to please their customers even if it means going out of their way. Over the years I have made so many friends in so many bars and hotels, and every year we go back to find them working somewere different and considering how many people they have met over the 6 month season they still manage to remember you. One of the best places to eat there is the Champagne Bar, which is on the same road as the Mirage Hotel: the food and staff are amazing. Have known some of the staff for 4 years. Oasis, where OB's used to be is an amazing bar, staff are so friendly and very helpful, knew john for about 2 years now, he's a great lad!! Only got to know his mum Tina this year and she's lovely too... I would recommend Icmeler to anyone: you just can't go wrong. Tour Operator: Direct Holidays

This is our third time to Icmeler; we had a brilliant time. The bar we use all the time was the Havana; the bar staff are great, kind and very funny. You're sure of a good time as "Za Za" and "Patrick" will do anything for you. The Turkish people made you very welcome. We book for June next year. Icmeler is a lovely place for a holiday. Very clean and cheap good hotels, plenty of places to eat. To have your hair done its very cheap: we had our hair done at Karizma. We where very pleased, they made a good job. Roll on next June: can't wait to return to see all our new friends! From the sisters of Brighton, Sussex Tour Operator: Manoes

Icmeler is a wonderful place for a nice relaxing holiday, we go in May when it's not too busy, everyone we have met has made us really welcome, we have found lots of nice places to eat but I think the best ones are the Lighthouse and the Love Boat. We like to have a nice quiet drink at the end to our night and you will get no where better than Tin Tins its family run and they couldn't make you any more welcome and we have a good laugh with then. Booking again for next year, can't wait to see everyone that I consider my friends. Would recommend this place to anyone, if you don't believe us give it a try and see for yourself. We visited Icmeler for the 1st time and stayed at the Effes Inn Hotel; it was our best holiday ever. We went over to Havana bar every morning for our breakfast and every night because they were so friendly and it was a great atmosphere at night. We are going back to Icmeler next year to see ZA'ZA, PATRICK, FERHAT and the gang again. Brill holiday! Tour Operator: Thomas Cook
Icmeler - Kim and Martin Crisp. Date of travel: Jul 2004
My family and I visited Icmeler for the first time in July 2004. It was our first time to Turkey and our travel agent recommended Icmeler to us. I must say we are very glad that we took her advice and booked our holiday to stay here. The beautiful mountain backdrops, lovely beach and great weather makes Icmeler the place to go!!!!!! There's so much to do in Icmeler and you only have a 15 minute walk untill you end up at Icmeler's neighbouring resort Marmaris which is another great place to visit. So much to see and do you won't be disappointed!!!!!!! Tour Operator: Thomas Cook
Icmeler was fantastic - Big Dave. Date of travel: Jul 2004
Icmeler was fantastic
Icmeler is a lovely holiday town to go to. The food and atmosphere is wonderful. One restaurant that is particularly good is Majestic. Boys the staff are nice and cheerful: there is dancing from 10 - 12 to liven you up the whole thing is just incredible. Tour Operator: gold trail

Wonderboys Fun Pub and Restaurant is an absolute must if you ever get the chance to visit beautiful Içmeler. The setting is perfect and in all honesty once you are seated you will not want to leave (nor do you have to!!) Breakfast and luches are great in the lazy sunshine but the bar really comes alive in the evening. The dinner menu is exceptional (and VERY reasonabley priced), drinks - especially the cocktail list is by far the best. But it really comes alive when the staff provide evening entertainment.. EVERY night. This is great to watch - especially when you see how much fun the staff have too! Everybody is catered for: old, young, families.. nothing is ever too much trouble. Please drop in and see for youself. I assure you, if you like good food, good drink and good fun - you will not regret it. Tour Operator: none

Beautiful area - Rachel Wilkinson. Date of travel: Oct 2003
I have stayed here in Icmeler twice and would recommend it to anyone. It is smaller then Marmaris but all the better for it. The beach is lovely and there is a river running through the town with restaurants and shops on either side. It is beautiful. Tree covered mountains surround the area and it is a short boat ride to other areas. Try a Turkish Bath.
