We are still negotiating with freedom direct for compensation regarding our holiday... This place was awful.. we paid over £2,000 on this two week break with our two friends who were celebrating their wedding anniversary whilst we were there.. it was embarrassing people were complaining to the management night and day, some of the guests were crying saying they wanted to go home as the accommodation was so bad... all we have been offered is £100.00 which we are not prepared to accept.

Fortunately we were warned about the not so fantastic food at Green Oasis Rio Sol and booked self catering - turned out to be the best option though and rooms had great facilities (full oven and hob etc etc. We had also, on recommendation, hired a car and this made a huge difference as we could explore on our own, and it cut out the 20 minutes or so walk to town. Lots to see and do and we liked the fact that Playa Blanca is a bit quieter than some of the other resorts. Our only complaint was that the bath water was running brown for a few nights, but seemed to sort it out after we alerted the staff. We hired a fan from the reception but it would have made a difference to have aircon - pretty steamy - though one cant complain having such good weather! This is perhaps not the best choice for those wanting to be in the thick of things, but still, we had a great holiday.
