We experienced a fantastic trip in Spain last summer. Let me tell you about our itinerary in Barcelona. Hopefully it can help you when you travel there. After a jolting train ride and bus from Madrid, we finally got to our camping site — Vilanova Park which is a tourist resort and tropical botanical garden. Wooden cottages situated in the forest
are air conditioned and there is a single bathroom in every cottage. It is only 14€ pp/per night.
At night, we made a detailed plan for five days journey. The next morning we started in the urban area of Barcelona. The ticket is 0.85€ per person. It will take 40 minutes from the camping site to the train station. We spent 17€ to buy a train ticket which can be used ten times. After about 40 minutes, we arrived at the underground centre of Barcelona — Estacio de Sants. At information, it cost us 19€ to buy a sight-seeing bus card. The sight-seeing bus is a double-decker bus, the upper is open. Our first station is Placa Espanya. It was worth a mention that there is a musical fountain at the centre of square, it is really magnificent and stirring.
The second station is Anella Olympic, Olympic venue. Olympic main hall, track field, natatorium and a signal rebroadcast tower which is designed by a Japanese architect are located here. When I stood at the auditorium of the track stadium, it seems that cheering for Olympic athletes burst into my ears, and the Olympic sacred torch was burned in front of my eyes.
The third station is Port Olympic. Here was a poor industrial manufacturing zone. In order to hold the Olympic Games, Barcelona paved a 50 metre wide and 4 kilometre long beach. 92 Olympic yacht races were held here. Now Port Olympic with its clear blue sea water, the beaches filled with sand has become a famous bathing place and vacation resort. Here I enjoyed a crab meal with my colleagues to finish our travels to Spain.
I recommend a site which helped me a lot: www.gobarcelona.biz
Hope this is helpful for your Barcelona trip.
