The Twelve Apostles hotel around 25 minutes from the centre of Cape Town so not ideal if you need to be there regularly, but the setting is magical, wedged between the Ocean and the Twelve Apostles mountain range (part of Table Mountain). Our room was very comfortable and had views over the sea and pool - there are a couple of pools at the hotel, plus a well-equipped fitness centre, a spa, great restaurant (the Azure), bar and terrace with fantastic views and a small cinima. The service at the hotel was excellent. You can walk straight from the hotel onto the mountain, where there are a number of walking trails - some all the way to the top of the mountain.

The Twelve Apostles Hotel is very nice accommodation and very helpful staff. It's a good 10-15 minutes from the centre of town, so be prepared to cab it, but a very nice experience.

We have been to Cape Town many times, but this was the first time we’d stayed at the Twelve Apostles Hotel, and probably not our last! The location is great with unrivalled views and away from the crowds. The hotel is above Victoria Road, the main coastal road which runs along the Atlantic Ocean, but you don’t hear it. There is a shuttle bus which takes guests into town, but I suggest hiring a car as its by far the best way to get around Cape Town. We stayed for 5 nights and found the staff charming and service excellent. The hotel is large enough to have good facilities, but still small enough to feel intimate. We’d happily recommend the Twelve Apostles. The only downside of staying here in summer is the wind – Cape Town’s South-Easter hammers the hotel when it picks up, but luckily most days were calm while we stayed.
