Sleepless Nights - Joan Wingrove & Pam Middleton. Date of travel: Oct 2007
The Grafton Capital Hotel has friendly staff and it's close to good shops, city centre and restaurants, mainly clean and tidy. The downside of this hotel was the excessive noise from the nightclub below and the drunken youngsters in the street outside. This noise went on until at least 4.00am. We were also awoken by street cleaning and refuse collection including glass. Deliveries were also very early in the morning as were the builders on the site opposite the hotel. The breakfast was extremely poor. Mostly dried and unappetising having been left in food warmers for too long. Very little fresh produce, the fruit supplied being mostly tinned. The sausages were disgusting, full of pepper and tiny. If breakfast hadn't been all incl. we would have eaten out. I do take extreme exception to the fact that the hotel's own website says that 'the noise from the disco cannot be heard in the rooms'. Frankly this is a complete lie.

Perfect for our needs - P. R.. Date of travel: Aug 2006
We recently stayed at the Grafton Capital Hotel-- August 2006. The location was perfect for our needs of touring the city. The lobby was clean, but small. The staff very nice and accomondating. They stored our luggage the first day until our rooms were available. The rooms were clean, neat and were equipped with all the essentials(iron, coffee pot, hair dryer etc.). The Irish breakfast was quite filling. The downside was the extreme noise from the bar below. We were kept awake until after 3 AM! Ask for an upper floor room and one that is farther away from the bar.
